
Tiffin Little Box Shop Take a weekend excursion, enjoy the festive season of Fall and the approaching holidays, visit the Little Box Shops' Holiday Happenings held in historic Tiffin, Ohio on Saturday, November 7th from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. and Sunday, November 8th from noon until 5 P.M. The Little Box Shops are a collection of unique locally owned shops, attractions, restaurants, and motels where friendly owners offer signature items, expert advice, warm hospitality...all in a style reminiscent of the past. Forty-five businesses are participating this year, offering demonstrations, specials, refreshments and more. Experience the excitement of shopping combined with playing Tiffin's Little Box Shops' Bingo. There is no purchase necessary to play bingo just visit the participating establishments to pick up your bingo card and have it stamped at each of the businesses until you have a vertical or horizontal bingo. Just fill in your name and address and phone number on your card, deposit it in the designated boxes at the businesses and you will be eligible to win one of four great prizes. The first prize is a leather recliner, second is a freezer filled with beef and pork, third is a diamond necklace and earring set and fourth is an overnight at the Tiffin Hampton Inn and a $25.00 gift certificate to Carmies Grill and Bar. Participants must be eighteen years old to win.
Discover the magic of glass at Crystal Traditions, 145 Madison Street as Patrick Amoros demonstrates the art of glassblowing. Patrick will show you how from a gather of molten glass he creates pieces of art glass. Aidan Scully, Master Crystal Cutter and Designer from Ireland, will demonstrate the free form of hand cutting crystal. The artisans delight young and old with tales of glass making from ancient times to the present. Special guest will be Michel Dammron from Farafina Imports bring beautiful Russian gift ware, such as lacquer boxes, nesting dolls, wooden Santas and amber jewelry. Glass lovers will also enjoy visiting the Tiffin Glass Museum and Shoppe, 25 S. Washington Street. Visitors will see displays of beautiful glass made in Tiffin from 1889 until the close of the Tiffin Glass Factory in the early 1980's. The Museum Shoppe carries a wide assortment of old Tiffin Glass, books and souvenirs. Special guest at the Museum will be Kevin G. Huth, Shaker Oval Box Maker. All his shaker boxes are hand made just as they were over 200 years ago. David and Clyde King, both engraver at the old Tiffin Glass factory, will be demonstrating hand cutting crystal at King's Glass Engraving, 181 S. Washington St. Their showroom is filled with crystal gift ware. Tiffin Glass and Mirror, 204 W. Market Street will be demonstrating stained glass, another form of beautiful glass making. Many pieces, such as prints, mirrors, Carruth Studio pieces and more can be seen in the showroom. St. Francis Spirit Space Gallery and Gifts, 200 St. Francis Avenue will have pottery demonstrations and more. The gift shop showcases the wonderful works of the fine local artisans as well as studios across the country. At Something Special "A Street of Shops", 2800 S. St. Rt. 100, the art of painting Christmas ornaments will be demonstrated. The Street of Shops features home decor, gifts, florals, primitives, antiques and much more. Rosary making demonstrations and ceramic ornament painting will be at The Angelus, 212 Jefferson Street. This is a wonderful gift shop in a charming turn of the century home with rooms overflowing with books and gifts for the religious or any special occasion. One of the latest arts interesting young and old is jewelry making, it will be demonstrated at Frameworks, 643 Miami Street, Suite #4. Frameworks custom framing and gifts specializes in the creation of personal art and custom business framing needs. Nineteen local artists gift lines are available in the showroom. Visitors will enjoy local art displayed at the Tiffin Art Guild, 207 S. Washington Street. Here you will see everything from watercolor to photography. If you want to learn about the latest in keeping your floors spic and span or the newest in household gadgets visit Burns Electric and Ralph's Joy of Living. Burns Electric, 116 E. Market Street, will be showing the importance in proper floor care cleaners , polishes and sealers to maintain that great look in stone, tile and granite. At Ralph's Joy of Living, 33N.
