Tour Crystal Traditions, one of the Little Box Shops, located in historic downtown Tiffin. It is the only glass factory where glass blowing, crystal hand cutting, sandcarving, acid polishing and crystal repairs are done on the premises.
Visitors can watch the glass blower, Erinn Bessler, create a piece of art from a gathering of molten glass. Aidan Scully, Irish Brilliant Cutter and Designer, takes pride in his hand cutting demonstration as he creates museum quality pieces. The artisans create and design custom crystal pieces for all occasions. Whether looking for a glass sink for your bathroom, a hand cut window to accent your house or that crystal gift for a special occasions, Aidan will customize and/or personalize your request. Personalized engraving of crystal is our company's specialty.
The tradition of the Brilliant Era of crystal cutting is being continued at Crystal Traditions through the Hawkes' line of crystal giftware. T.G. Hawkes and Company was founded by Thomas Gibson Hawkes and incorporated in 1880 in Corning, New York. The company was recognized for its quality and excellence in crystal. All Hawkes pieces are hand cut and signed by Aidan Scully and possess the Hawkes Logo. They consist of beautiful brilliantly cut stemware, bowls, trays and windows.
Tours are welcome. Visitors can watch the demonstrations Monday thru Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM. There is no charge for the tours and the facility is handicap accessible. We would appreciate groups to call for a reservation. Group tours and tour directors can contact us to customize an itinerary to visit Crystal Traditions and other establishments. This is a wonderful trip for visitors to enjoy the art of glass making and the hospitality of a Little Box Shop.
